Start-up money and business incubator office space are going to be up for grabs during the Second Annual Business Pitch Competition, sponsored by the Southwest Louisiana Entrepreneurial and Economic Development (SEED) Center and the Angels of Southwest Louisiana.

 

Applicants may compete in four categories, including technology, university, high school and general business/community categories. Winners will receive $1,000 in start-up funding with the added incentive of six months of free rent at the SEED Center Business Incubator.

Here is how the contest will operate

  • Contestants must submit their business plan online by March 17, 2014  Deadline Extended until Saturday March 22, 2014 at midnight

  • A panel of expert reviewers will choose the finalists
  • The finalists will be invited to pitch their plans to a panel of local business leaders on April 2 at 1 p.m. at the SEED Center. Winners will be announced shortly after.

 

This year’s contest will be one of the highlights of Entrepreneurship Week which takes place March 25 to April 2. One of the activities that will take place during the special week is the Southwest Louisiana Startup Weekend that will take place March 27-29 and sponsored by Google.com.
